Greenwood Alliance is a program designed to play in a more competitive atmosphere of softball.
Greenwood Alliance will coincide with the recreational ball season. It's an additional "season" of games played from August through October during the fall rec league and three tournaments during the Summer.
A player must be on a GLL Rec League to qualify for a Greenwood Alliance team. Alliance games are played throughout other communities in Central Indiana. Double-header games are played on Sundays only. Tournaments are at central Indiana Softball Organizations and our GLL fields during June and July.
There is an additional $200 registration fee for Greenwood Alliance. This fee will include a jersey, pants, socks, any double header/league fees, and tournament fees. The fee will be on top of the standard fee paid to play for the GLL Rec league.
Greenwood Alliance is a GLL affiliated program and any girl that is interested in Greenwood Alliance will be given the opportunity to tryout for a team.
Reminder, you must be signed up to play GLL Rec League in order to be eligible to participate in Greenwood Alliance.
Each player will go through a tryout . Once evaluations are completed, the GLL board and the selected coaches, will compile a team(s) for age groups 8U, 10U, 12U and 14U/16U. If there is enough interest in each age group, two teams will be formed.
Coaches will be selected by a vote by GLL Board. Anyone interested in coaching can reach out, at any time, to Aimee Hawley at [email protected]. The coaching application is located on the main GLL website.
Parents, please do not commit your child to this program if they do not plan to 100% participate in the Greenwood Alliance League. You must be willing to commit three tournaments in the summer and Sunday afternoons to this program because of travel and game times. If you do not feel that you can commit to this, then please do not register to play. There are only a limited number of spots available for each age group.
Fundraising will be offered to help support families in paying the additional $200 fees for Greenwood Alliance. More information to come once teams have been announced.
